About
What?
The Back in the Day Show is a retrospective podcast and blog that focuses on nostalgia from the 80s and early 90s. We’re just a few guys who grew up during those times and now we’re talking about it like it’s going out of style, which, of course, it already is. We cover such wonderfully frivolous topics as movies, video games, TV shows, cartoons, music, toys, culture, and other nostalgia that was popular during our childhood. So if you grew up during that time or you’re just into the 80s and early 90s, get ready to be taken back.
Why?
The simplest reason why we’re producing this podcast is probably that it’s just an excuse for us to hang out as friends. We all lead lives that are packed full with schedules, responsibilities, and other “grown-up” type stuff that we’ve all somehow acquired over the years. This is a chance to shed some of that maturity (if any) and remember the days of our youth. Which brings us to another reason: talking about the good old days. And to us, the good old days were the 80s and early 90s. Some pretty cool stuff came out during those times, and many times we find ourselves talking about it in such great detail that we decided to do a show about it. The interest we all have inherent in the technical aspects of podcasting is another reason. Rob and Josh both have IT jobs, and Chris is a DJ for a local radio station, so audio production, Web design, graphic design, and other computer skills hold a particular interest to us. Plus, the whole Web 2.0 movement can’t be ignored. In a time when everyone seems to have a blog, we’re just curious to see how we fare in popularity by offering something to the podcasting community. This project serves as our own personal experiment to see how much of an audience an obscure group of guys can build. So why not help us build our audience and subscribe now?
