Bionic Commando Is Now Rearmed
Capcom is releasing Bionic Commando Rearmed, the updated version of the classic 1988 NES game, Bionic Commando, today for the Xbox and tomorrow for the PS3 and PC. Here are the prices: 800 Microsoft Points for Xbox, $9.99 for PS3, and $14.99 for PC. If it seems like PC users are getting a raw deal, not to worry. Producer Ben Judd from Capcom explains:
“I can give you a song and dance about PC digital content being more expensive as a general rule… but nobody wants to hear that crap. I can say this: for the PC version we are planning on uploading some additional PC-only challenge rooms via a free patch so you will get more bang for your buck.”
I’ll definitely be buying this one. And since we’re on the subject, what other classic games would you like to see “rearmed”? Zelda, Contra, Metroid, Castlevania, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy, among many others, have all been revisioned on their respective platforms. Not to mention Megaman; although it still tickles the nostalgic bone, on it’s 9th iteration, it has long since shown it’s age. How about some more obscure titles like Blaster Master, Crystalis, or Kid Icarus? I’d like to see those games “rearmed” as well. Go ahead, post your ideas in the comments. You know you want to ![]()

Holy crap! I loved this game. I’m excited to hear the music too. I thought the soundtrack from the original was awesome, even though it was 8-bit. Now i just need to get an X-Box…

I know, man. Don’t forget you can buy it for PC on Steam. Your PC should be able to handle it just fine as the minimum specs aren’t very high.

As it turns out, the game will NOT be available on Steam. Too bad, but at least it’s still available on Direct2Drive.com and Capcom’s online store.

Ah, this is actually the new third-person shooter, Bionic Commando. Bionic Commando Rearmed is the remake of the classic 2D side-scroller. Just to make sure there’s no confusion
